Dr. Scot Burgess grew up in Coos Bay, Oregon. He graduated from Portland State University with a BS in Biology with an emphasis on physiology. He graduated with honors in 1984. Dr. Burgess graduated with honors from Oregon Health Sciences University with a DMD degree in 1988. During his education there, he received an award for excellence in pediatric dentistry. He then completed a hospital residency with a surgery emphasis in Providence, Rhode Island and went on to practice general dentistry for one year before returning to Oregon Health Sciences University. Here, Dr. Burgess completed a two-year specialty training on orthodontics and graduated from this residency with honors in 1992. After completing his orthodontic residency, Dr. Burgess practiced orthodontics as an associate before choosing to come to Central Oregon and starting his private practice in 1995 in Redmond. Since that time he has expanded his practice to serve Bend, La Pine, Sisters and Madras communities. Dr. Burgess continues his education to bring the latest and best materials and techniques to his practice by regularly attending national and regional orthodontic meetings and conferences. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Oregon Dental Association, Central Oregon Dental Society, and honorary member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon. Dr. Burgess also gives back to his community by supporting many fund raising events and causes as well as volunteering his time. Dr. Burgess enjoys many outdoor activities including fly-fishing, hiking, camping and skiing in beautiful Central Oregon. He shares this incredible life in Central Oregon with his wonderful wife and three beautiful children. We are especially interested in making all our patients feel right at home!
